Delete my data
This page explains how to delete your BrainPlay account and its data, and how to remove your e-mail address from the release announcement list.
It is also our public web page for account deletion, as Google Play requires.

Delete your account in the app
- Open BrainPlay and tap Profile, the person symbol at the top of the home screen. On the simple home screen it is called Me.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll down to Account and tap Delete account.
- Confirm that it is you: enter your password, or choose your Google account again.
- Tap Delete my account. This cannot be undone.
You need an internet connection. If the deletion fails, for example because the connection drops, your account stays in place and you can simply try again.
Playing as a guest, without an account? Then your data is only on your phone. Uninstall the app, or clear its storage in the Android settings.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in account: e-mail address, name and sign-in method.
- Your account record, progress, stars, statistics, weekly points and game history on our servers.
- Your public leaderboard profile (nickname and avatar), your entries on the current boards, your friend code and your list of friends.
- The data of your account on this phone.
What is not deleted straight away
- Entries on older daily and weekly leaderboards: they are marked for automatic deletion about two weeks after their period ends.
- Reports that you sent about other players, or that others sent about you: we keep them until we have reviewed them. They contain user IDs, not names or e-mail addresses.
- Other players’ friend lists may still contain your former user ID. It no longer leads to any profile.
- Crash reports stay with Google Firebase Crashlytics until they expire automatically (currently after 90 days). They are stored under the random user ID of your account, not under your name or e-mail address.
- Usage statistics stay in Google Analytics until their retention period ends. They are not stored under your name, e-mail address or account ID, and we cannot reliably link them to you.
- If you had Premium, Google Play and RevenueCat keep purchase records as accounting and tax rules require. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription: please cancel it in Google Play first.
- The website’s server logs, until the log store of our hosting removes them.
Leave only the leaderboards
To keep your account but disappear from the leaderboards: Profile → Leaderboards → Leaderboard profile → Leave leaderboards. Your public profile and your current entries are deleted.
Without the app
If you can no longer use the app, write to [email protected] from the e-mail address of your account and ask us to delete the account. We may ask you to confirm the request, and we complete it within 30 days.
Leave the release announcement e-mail list
Send us an e-mail from the address you signed up with, or tell us that address. We delete it from the list within 30 days, and in any case before the announcement goes out.
There is no form for this on purpose: a short e-mail is enough. The button opens your e-mail app with the subject already filled in.
